Since its creation, NAIR Center has tripled its team and expanded its research and technology\u2011transfer activity, while the Government of Navarra has increased the\u00a0centre\u2019s\u00a0budget by 66%.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Government of Navarra reaffirmed its commitment to innovation and to the responsible development of Artificial Intelligence with the presentation of NAIR Center\u2019s progress and its portfolio of nine services aimed at institutions,\u00a0companies\u00a0and professionals.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Patricia\u00a0Fanlo, Regional Minister for Universities, Innovation and Digital Transformation, and Gorka Garc\u00eda, Managing Director of NAIR Center, outlined the\u00a0centre\u2019s\u00a0track record\u00a0and\u00a0plans for the future\u2014highlighting new partnerships,\u00a0projects\u00a0and research lines at the service of society and of the productive sectors.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Minister\u00a0Fanlo\u00a0emphasised\u00a0the growth of the team, the quality of the research being carried out and the creation of high\u2011value jobs as key factors in the development of NAIR Center.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For his part, Managing Director Garc\u00eda noted that \u201cthe team has already tripled the staff we started with\u201d,\u00a0and stressed the consolidation of collaborative projects with public administrations and companies, offering services to both public and private bodies.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

NAIR Center\u2019s research has evolved to address pressing challenges in AI, including not only technical aspects but also ethical,\u00a0social\u00a0and economic dimensions. The\u00a0centre\u00a0has\u00a0established\u00a0itself as a reference in research into explainable and trustworthy AI, in addition to its applications across different sectors.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Four priority research areas\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The newly approved strategic plan focuses NAIR Center\u2019s work on four axes: trustworthy AI; the application of AI to health; disruptive AI and its impact on society; and explainable AI.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Scientific Director Marisol G\u00f3mez highlighted \u201cthe significant advances achieved by the\u00a0centre\u2019s\u00a0research teams in health, in trustworthy AI and in explainable AI\u201d,\u00a0and underlined their capacity to address cutting\u2011edge technological challenges.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Public\u2013private collaboration as a key pillar\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Collaboration between the public and private sectors has been strengthened\u00a0in order to\u00a0scale up impact projects, with companies working closely with the\u00a0centre\u2019s\u00a0staff on high\u2011value initiatives.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

NAIR Center also serves as a meeting point for companies and institutions interested in AI. The\u00a0centre\u00a0is the result of a research\u2011oriented approach that coordinates with the ecosystem and focuses on driving technological development in the region.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
