Between October and November, NAIR Center welcomed two visiting researchers in the field of AI and Health with the aim of strengthening collaborations and promoting joint projects.<\/h3>\n

Professor Ra\u00fal P\u00e9rez Fern\u00e1ndez (University of Oviedo), an expert in uncertainty modelling and decision theory with extensive applied work in healthcare (including collaborations with CIBER and the Health Research Institute of Asturias), worked alongside NAIR teams on advanced data-fusion methods and supported the doctoral research of Ander Go\u00f1i Medrano.<\/p>\n

Professor Francesco Bardozzo (University of Salerno) delivered the lecture \u201cConnectomic Deep Learning: Re-thinking the Concept of Bioplausibility\u201d. He addressed the challenges and opportunities of bio-inspired deep learning and highlighted the importance of computational systems that emulate more faithfully the structure and behaviour of natural neural networks as a route to reducing energy consumption and improving model efficiency\u2014drawing on research with Caenorhabditis elegans.<\/p>\n

The visits have opened new avenues for joint proposals applying AI to health and have strengthened NAIR Center\u2019s network of international collaborators. The centre will continue to promote exchanges and visiting-researcher programmes to accelerate knowledge transfer and impact in healthcare.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
