A recent Government of Navarra report estimates that the\u00a0digitalisation\u00a0of productive sectors could increase regional GDP by 10% over the next decade, underlining the importance of these developments.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the automotive industry, the integration of AI systems makes it possible to\u00a0optimise\u00a0the production chain, implement predictive\u00a0maintenance\u00a0and improve product quality.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In agriculture, the use of drones, smart\u00a0sensors\u00a0and big-data analytics enables farmers to\u00a0monitor\u00a0their crops with unprecedented precision,\u00a0optimising\u00a0the use of resources and increasing yields by up to 15%. In health, AI is\u00a0revolutionising\u00a0the diagnosis and treatment of disease. A study by the University of Navarra has shown that the use of AI in oncology can increase diagnostic accuracy by up to 30%, significantly reducing costs and improving clinical outcomes.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This technological transformation is not only changing Navarra\u2019s economy; it is also improving citizens\u2019 quality of life, creating new job\u00a0opportunities\u00a0and promoting sustainable growth. Since 2019, the region has created more than 5,000 jobs in technology sectors,\u00a0representing\u00a0a 12% increase in tech employment.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However, the road to digital transformation is not without challenges. Ongoing training and workforce adaptation are crucial to ensure that workers can meet the demands of an increasingly technology-intensive economy.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Training initiatives and reskilling\u00a0programmes\u00a0are essential to\u00a0maintain\u00a0competitiveness. In 2023, Navarra received more than \u20ac200 million in foreign investment earmarked for technology projects,\u00a0consolidating\u00a0its position as an innovation hub in Europe.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Intelligence Centre\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

With the aim of continuing to move forward and\u00a0maintain\u00a0technological leadership, the Government of Navarra has promoted NAIR Center, a research\u00a0centre\u00a0dedicated to artificial intelligence (AI) that has experienced notable growth since its inauguration a year ago. The\u00a0centre\u00a0already has 11 projects under way, 5 collaboration\u00a0agreements\u00a0and a portfolio of 9 services aimed at institutions,\u00a0companies\u00a0and professionals.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

NAIR Center not only promotes innovation and business growth; it has also been integrated into Navarra\u2019s Digital Innovation Hub as coordinator of the AI area, strengthening its position as a leading\u00a0centre\u00a0in this field. Its accreditation as a distinctive entity within the Navarra R&D&I System (SINAI) provides a focus on driving technological development in the region.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The development and drive of NAIR Center represent a fundamental step forward for AI in Navarra, strengthening its position thanks to the backing of the regional government, a\u00a0consolidated\u00a0team\u00a0and a clear strategic vision. The mission of NAIR Center is to promote and coordinate AI research and application for the benefit of\u00a0society as a whole. Its strategic plan focuses on four main research areas: intelligent data analysis, machine learning, disruptive\u00a0AI\u00a0and its impact on society, and explainable AI.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Collaboration between the public and private sectors has been\u00a0established\u00a0as a fundamental pillar in NAIR Center\u2019s strategy. The signing of collaboration agreements, such as the one reached with the Public University of Navarra (UPNA), has enabled renowned researchers to work closely with the\u00a0centre\u2019s\u00a0staff on high-impact projects.
