The Navarra Association for Acquired Brain Injury (ADACEN) and the Navarra Artificial Intelligence Research Centre (NAIR Center) have joined forces to launch NeuroPredict, an innovative project that aims to transform the way neurorehabilitation is delivered.

Acquired brain injury, such as that caused by a stroke, affects hundreds of people in Navarra every year and often leaves sequelae that require long recovery processes.

NeuroPredict opens a new chapter: using non‑invasive measurement headsets, the project will record both brain activity and movement during rehabilitation sessions.

Drawing on those data and on artificial intelligence, clinicians will be able to design personalised rehabilitation programmes that tailor therapeutic interventions to each person’s neural and motor evolution, reducing non‑productive elements of therapy.

NeuroPredict will enable clinical teams to adjust therapies precisely and on an evidence basis, strengthening residual capacities and promoting patients’ autonomy.

This means more effective treatments, progress that is better sustained over time and, above all, a better quality of life for people living with the after‑effects of stroke and other neurological conditions.

The project has been made possible by recent advances in artificial intelligence, which until very recently did not allow for a thorough analysis of data captured in situ while the user was performing exercises.

The initiative is particularly relevant for people in the sub‑acute and chronic phases, offering tools to maintain gains, prevent relapse and stimulate brain plasticity even long after injury.

NeuroPredict will also encourage collaboration between social organisations, research centres and healthcare professionals, consolidating Navarra’s position as a benchmark for innovation in neurorehabilitation.
