02 September 2025 – NAIR Center showcased Navarra’s research talent on several international stages this summer, building strategic links and sharing advances in artificial intelligence across Europe and North America.

The itinerary began in the United Kingdom, where the Centre took part in the International Summer School on Artificial Intelligence hosted at the University of Cambridge. The programme brought together doctoral candidates and senior researchers to discuss the frontiers of trustworthy, explainable and human‑centred AI.

From the UK the focus moved to Istanbul. There, NAIR researchers exchanged knowledge with leading academics in machine learning and model explainability, including teams working on the foundations of interpretable deep learning.

In parallel, NAIR doctoral candidate Ander Goñi Medrano commenced a research stay at Ghent University (Belgium) under the supervision of Professor Bernard De Baets, strengthening collaboration on uncertainty modelling and decision‑support systems.

The international tour concluded in Montréal, where researcher Juan Pedro García presented work on computational neuroscience and the use of intelligent techniques to analyse EEG signals in post‑stroke rehabilitation therapies.

This international deployment has been made possible thanks to the financial support of the ‘la Caixa’ Foundation, which promotes research and the global projection of Navarran talent in artificial intelligence.
