Professor Carlos López‑Molina and six doctoral candidates from the Navarra academic community took part in the meeting held in Paestum.
The Public University of Navarra (UPNA), in collaboration with other European institutions, co‑organised an international summer school for doctoral students focused on Artificial Intelligence. The delegation included Professor of Mathematics Carlos López‑Molina, who delivered two lectures, together with six PhD candidates.
Specifically: Mikel Ferrero Jaurrieta, Xabier González Goñi, Ander Goñi Medrano (NAIR Center), and three researchers affiliated with UPNA’s doctoral programmes: Matteo Carollo and Fabio Gil Zuluaga, among others.
International summer school
Held in June in Paestum (Italy), the school was promoted by UPNA, the University of Salerno (UNISA) and the University of Naples Parthenope, and brought together students from several countries to explore the state of the art in AI and its applications across industry and public services.
The programme combined theoretical sessions with hands‑on workshops and round‑table discussions on topics such as machine learning, data fusion, explainable AI and the ethical, legal and social implications of automated systems.
The initiative strengthened international collaboration and allowed participants to build research links with leading groups, supporting the development of high‑level skills in Navarra’s doctoral community.
